Melanoma UK partners with new UK skincare start-up dussl
To increase awareness of UV exposure & early prevention of skin cancers
February 2025 New, gender-neutral, simplified skincare brand dussl, obsessed with yoU(V)®, is partnering with charity Melanoma UK to raise awareness of daily UV exposure, promote skin cancer prevention, and highlight the power of daily SPF application when it comes to long-term skin health.
As a new gender-neutral selfcare brand, dussl is redefining skincare: it’s on a mission to protect all skin types from the harmful effects of UV exposure, pollution, and blue light – with SPF forming the backbone of an effortless, simple daily routine in multi-tasking, high-quality products. dussl’s hero product is a daily SPF 50 moisturiser — lightweight, invisible, and non-greasy — designed to make daily sunscreen use effortless and enjoyable.
And SPF isn’t just about skin cancer prevention – it’s also key to helping our skin look younger and healthier. The World Health Organisation reports that UV rays cause up to 90% of all visible ageing. UVA rays are present every day and reach deep into the inner layers of our skin, causing premature ageing, wrinkles, as well as leading to long-term damage – even when it’s cloudy.
As part of its mission to protect your skin for life, dussl is donating 1% of revenue to Melanoma UK this year – to raise awareness, advance research, and help efforts to reduce sun-induced skin cancers.
dussl has a 22-45 target age range and a gender-neutral approach with a male skew that creates the opportunity for Melanoma UK to expand its reach to a younger demographic who can take action now, which is key to the awareness and early prevention of skin cancers.
Fraser Wilson, Founder & CEO of dussl comments, “Partnering with Melanoma UK is a fantastic opportunity to reach more people, advocate for daily UV protection and encourage simple routine changes for optimum skin health. On behalf of dussl’s customers, I’m proud to support Melanoma UK, and I’m very much looking forward to working together.”
Melanoma UK is one of the largest skin cancer charities in the UK. It is dedicated to raising awareness of melanoma and supporting those affected by it. Melanoma is the most serious type of skin cancer, which originates from skin cells called melanocytes.
The charity works to raise funds to help increase prevention through education and awareness as well as providing support to those working in the field of diagnosis, treatment and research. It is supported by senior medical advisors working in some of the UK’s leading hospital trusts.
Tracy Paine MBE, CEO of Melanoma UK, says, “I am very excited about our partnership with dussl and grateful for their incredible support. We are committed to raising awareness about the vital need for skin protection from harmful UVA rays. Skin cancer – particularly melanoma – continues to impact far too many lives, and this collaboration is an important step towards educating the public on the significance of using high-quality products to prevent it. Together, through our messaging we can ensure that more people have access to skin protection products and ultimately reduce the risk of skin cancer. This partnership is a significant milestone in our mission, and we look forward to what we can achieve together.”
Through this partnership, dussl and Melanoma UK aim to reach a new audience, drive meaningful awareness, and encourage small daily changes that can have a lifelong impact on skin health.
Look after your skin and future you will thank you!
