Being told you have melanoma — or watching someone you love go through it — can feel overwhelming and isolating.

At Melanoma UK, we’re here to change that. Our melanoma support brings together practical information, a listening ear, and a community of people who understand exactly what you’re going through. Whether you’ve just been diagnosed, you’re living with melanoma long-term, or you’re a family member or carer, there’s a place for you here. 💛

Talk to Someone Who Understands

Sometimes the most helpful thing is simply to talk to someone who gets it. Our team is here to listen, answer questions, and point you towards the right information and services — with no judgement and no pressure. You can reach out at any stage of your journey, whether you need reassurance after a diagnosis, help understanding your treatment options, or just someone to talk to on a difficult day.

Call us on 0161 821 5657 or email info@melanomauk.org.uk — there’s no such thing as a silly question, and you’re welcome to get in touch as often as you need.

Melanoma Mates: Our Peer Support Group

The heart of our support community is Melanoma Mates — a friendly, welcoming peer support group for anyone affected by melanoma. It’s a safe space to share experiences, ask questions, and connect with others who truly understand, because they’ve been there too.

Because Melanoma Mates runs online, you can join wherever you are in the UK — so you’re never limited by not having a melanoma support group near you. Whether you’d like to actively take part in the discussion or simply read along and take comfort from others’ stories, you’re welcome exactly as you are.

Information and Advice You Can Trust

Understanding melanoma makes it feel less frightening. Our guides walk you through it in plain English, from spotting the early signs to knowing what happens next:

  • Checking your skin — learn the ABCDE rule and how to check your moles at home.
  • Stages and treatment — understand your diagnosis and the treatment options available in the UK.
  • Real patient stories — read honest, first-hand experiences from people across the UK who’ve faced melanoma.

Support for Families and Carers

Melanoma doesn’t only affect the person diagnosed — it touches everyone around them. If you’re supporting a partner, parent, child or friend through melanoma, you deserve support too. You’re welcome in our community, and we can help you find the information and reassurance you need to be there for them while looking after yourself.

You’re Part of Our Community Now

Facing melanoma — or skin cancer of any kind — is easier when you’re not doing it alone. From the day you find us, you’re part of a community that listens, understands and stands beside you. Reach out whenever you’re ready.
