Personal stories fuelling one mission at the 2026 London marathon.

While people like David, Louise and Mark carried different personal ‘whys’ to the finish line in London, they are united by a shared mission: transforming the pain of loss and lived experience into a powerful legacy of hope. By taking part and sharing their stories they ensure that the courage shown by their loved ones is remembered and continues to make a positive impact.

We applaud David Tillman’s dedication in carrying on his amazing Mum’s positivity and determination  on those 26.2 miles.  Through him and with the wonderful support he has received in his fundraiser, her impact and legacy certainly continues.

Witnessing cancer’s impact as a Doctor  and then experiencing this within her family circle, Louise Collin’s ‘why’  captured in her fundraiser, really inspired family, friends and patients alike to an amazing total.

After losing  his mum Angela to late-stage melanoma in 2013, Mark Smith’s story reveals that her intuition actually saved his life; while battling her own illness, she spotted a suspicious mole on his back that proved to be Melanoma. Caught early Mark made a full recovery and now raises vital awareness about how early detection and timing can change everything.
