Oscar and Georgia’s Junior Great South Run

Oscar and Georgia are taking on the Junior Great South Run to raise money for Melanoma UK, a charity that is incredibly close to our family's heart.

In 2018, their Grandma was diagnosed with Stage 3B malignant melanoma. It was a frightening and life-changing time for all of us. Throughout her diagnosis, surgery, treatment and recovery, Melanoma UK provided invaluable advice, guidance and support, helping our family navigate the challenges that cancer brings.

Grandma underwent a wide local excision, lymph node removal, and a year of adjacent treatment with dabrafenib and trametinib. Thanks to advances in medical treatments, expert care, and the support she received along the way, her latest results continue to show no evidence of disease. We are incredibly grateful that she is still very much with us today, making memories with her family and enjoying time with three grandchildren who adore her.

Sadly, melanoma diagnoses continue to rise across the UK, with around 19,400 people diagnosed every year, equivalent to more than 50 people every day. Rates have increased significantly over recent decades and continue to climb, highlighting the need for greater awareness, education and support for those affected by this disease.

By supporting Oscar and Georgia's run, you'll be helping Melanoma UK continue its vital work, providing information, support and reassurance to patients and families facing melanoma, just as they did for ours.

Every donation, no matter how small, will make a difference. Thank you for helping Oscar and Georgia support a cause that means so much to them and our family.

"We're running for our Grandma, for everyone affected by melanoma, and for a future where more people can access the support and treatment they need." ❤️
